Parish Centre Update
It is with GREAT JOY and excitement that we can tell you the Sacred Heart Parish Centre is very near to becoming a REALITY! Father Joe, the Building and Finance committee chairmen have been working within all the restrictions and conditions set out by our federal, provincial and local governments during this COVID-19 pandemic to get the ground work completed, and we are finally there. Thanks to the efforts of Father Joe, Paul Perras,Ted Guiducci, Tom Beacockand myself, a "footprint" for the design of
the new center has been created and submitted for approval. The final decision could come as early as July when the County Planning Committee meets again.
The footprint design gave the County what it needed to see what Sacred Heart Parish is proposing in terms of square footage and situation on the property. There are in fact two designs being considered, but each has the same footprint. There are a few hurdles yet to be cleared, but those should be satisfied in time for the July meeting. Once we receive the County approval, the process to begin construction of the new parish center will pick-up significantly. The design must be determined, specifications created, and finally a contractor chosen who will build the facility.
The two proposed designs for the Sacred Heart Parish Center are available to you by clicking on the icons below. Please have a look at them and send your comments to one or all of the contacts listed here. The final decision on a design hasto be made in order to proceed with our next steps. The uncertainty created by COVID-19 about when we can return to Mass and when we might be able to have a larger gathering means we are depending on you to provide feedback and spread the word to other parishioners to come to the website in order to review the proposed designs.
The Parish Council is excited that we have proceeded tot his point despite the difficult situation we are all living within. We truly hope you are equally excited, will review the designs and send us your comments. Who knows? Maybe by this time next year we could be gathering in a new Parish Centre!
